Strap yourself in for a travel adventure like no other with a Passport to Australia. The new board game from Brisbane based company Barker Boys (Australia) Pty Ltd, is set to turn Aussie lounge rooms everywhere into departure lounges for keen travellers. Barker Boys (Australia) Pty Ltd Managing Director Bruce Barker said the game was a fresh and exciting way for players of all ages to learn about Australia. “Passport to Australia is the new great race – the ultimate board game that takes players on a funtastic journey to every state and territory,” Mr Barker said. “The game is a brilliant way to discover Australia and improve your general knowledge on places that are in our own backyard. “Though, you hardly notice you’re learning because it’s so easy to get carried away with the thrill of the chase.” Mr Barker said the game was inspired by his own travel experiences and passion for learning. “I have always loved travelling and it’s amazing how much knowledge you pick up about a place just from being there.” “Passport to Australia does the same thing. You land on a place and while you’re there you learn things about it.” The game challenges competitors to a race across the continent. Rite of passage to a destination is gained by answering questions about each state and territory visited. With each correct answer, travellers move from one destination to the next in a dash to be the first to visit all eight destinations on the board. “Just like any travel adventure, there are plenty of surprises along the way too – enough to keep our happy travellers on their toes,” Mr Barker said. “We have created the game and concept to engage players on a number of levels – not just as travellers but as travelling companions. “For instance, Passport to Australia travel bugs who like the idea of bamboozling opponents with tricky questions can submit their own Q&A suggestions online at passporttoaustralia.com. “New questions will be added to later editions of the game and supplementary question packs will be available online and through recommended retail outlets. “Best of all, with every purchase of a Passport to Australia buyers will be contributing to the establishment of a school camp to provide learning and recreational experiences for young people. “The first Barker Boys (Australia) Pty Ltd school camp will be established in South East Queensland funded by profits from game sales. “Our intention is to continue to create opportunities to share knowledge and learn in fun and interesting ways.” Passport to Australia is available through ABC shops, selected retail stores and online at www.passporttoaustralia.com. |
